The main goal of the Proform Power 690 is to provide you with an effective workout you where you can really the results.  That is why it is equipped with an iFiT live that allows you to customize your program, receive automatic workout downloads and a whole lot more.  You can also add competition to your workout with 5k races against your Facebook friends plus other things that will make you enjoy a more extensive workout.  The Proform Power 690 extensifies your workout much more through its 0-12% quick incline, 1-12 mph quick speed, 4 performance workout programs and 4 distance workout programs.  With all these, you will surely shred those calories in no time.

Good points

  • Lifetime frame and motor warranty (though these two parts don’t tend to break that easily)
  • More powerful motor than the Proform 590T which also retails for $1299
  • Supports iFit live technology (wireless connection to the internet, sold separately) which is newly introduced in late 2009
  • Heart rate monitor, spacesaver design, air fans, iPod port

Bad points

  • Retail price of $1299 is on the high end

Comments

  • Proform introduced in late 2009, two treadmills that retail for $1299. One is the Proform 590T, the other is the one you’re look at right now, the Proform 690. At the time of review, the Proform 590T though inferior to the Proform 690, is selling for an awesome price of $599 while the Proform Power 690 is stuck a price of $1299 even though it’s Black Friday! If you ever see the Proform Power 690 on sale for $599 like the 590T, you probably can’t do much wrong but we think a more realistic price of $799 or $899 is more likely due to the Proform Power 690 having an upgraded motor and slighly more bells and whistles.
