Nordictrack Spacesaver SE7i Elliptical Review

NORDICTRACK SPACESAVER SE7i

NordicTrack’s SpaceSaver SE7i is the perfect blend of big features in the smallest space-consuming elliptical machine. It is the ideal elliptical trainer for those who want huge features but have limited space for storage.

The SpaceSaver SE7i has a vertical SpaceSaver design. The elliptical machine can easily be stored and it won’t take up much space. The unit also comes fully assembled out of the box and it just takes three very easy steps to set it up.

If set up and storage are convenient, everything else on this NordicTrack unit is likewise convenient. Tracking workout stats is a breeze because everything you need is within a bird’s eye on account of its 5-inch backlit display. There’s also a water bottle holder and an AutoBreeze fan that comes with the unit.

Comfort is something to be expected with the SpaceSaver SE7i. The machine is furnished with soft touch upper body grips and adjustable over-sized foot pedals.

It’s a NordicTrack premium elliptical. As expected, the machine comes with power adjustable incline, a very good stride length, an effective inertia-enhanced flywheel, a heart rate monitor, and the standard NordicTrack warranty of 2 years on parts, 1 year on labor, and a lifetime warranty on its frame.

Comparison of the Nordictrack Spacesaver SE7i and the Proform Smart Strider 935

Today, we will be comparing two rear drive ellipticals that are manufactured by two competing fitness companies.  The Proform Smart Strider 935 is selling at $999 while the Nordictrack Spacesaver SE7i has a tag price of $899. Let’s take a quick review of these two models’ primary features to help you determine which will work for you.

Both models have an identical stride length of 18 inches and a flywheel weight of 18 lbs. They also have a power adjustable incline that can add challenge and intensity to your workouts.

However, the Proform Smart Strider 935 takes the lead when it comes to the number of workout apps and resistance levels. Perhaps the best feature of the Strider 935 is its 7-inch web enabled full color touch screen which can help entertain and motivate you to stay longer on the machine. It also has a wireless chest strap that will provide you more accurate heart rate readings.

On the other hand, the Nordictrack Spacesaver SE7i does not really disappoint because despite of its sub-$1000 price tag this model still boasts of solid features – i.e. 24 workout apps, 22 resistance levels, a built-in sound system, water bottle holder and enhancements on the foot pedals and hand grips.

Now having said this and considering all the things that we reviewed, we feel that the $100 difference between these two models is definitely justified.  You get better features from the Proform Smart Strider 935 and it will provide better value for your money in the long run.

What Makes The Nordictrack Spacesaver SE7i Worth Buying?

The selling point of this model is its space saver design and it was specifically made to address space issues in your home. After you’re done with your work out, you can fold this elliptical machine vertically to fit any small storage area.

– The power incline function is probably one of the best features that the Nordictrack Spacesaver SE71 has to offer.  Most sub-$1000 ellipticals do not have this important feature that can help add variety to your workout.

-This model has an ample number of pre-programmed workouts and an above-average number of digital resistance levels. Having lots of variations in your daily exercise routine will help you battle out monotony and boredom.

What Makes The Nordictrack Spacesaver SE7i NOT Worth Buying?

– This model has a fixed stride length of 18”. Although this measurement is considered average for this price category, we would prefer you to have a model with an adjustable stride length. This would be perfect if you want to target your lower body muscles and if there are multiple users in your home.

– The weight capacity of this model was set at 325 lbs. but we do not have an idea on how much the machine actually weighs. Undisclosed information like this makes us a little wary about the true quality of the machine.
